the sun has set...

the wisps of mauve clouds ridged as a wave drenched beach lie upon the blue sky. A day of stitch and touch, wool and palest blue leather stay with me as I type. I have a story to be told and the characters sit waiting clothes and adornments, objects hitherto stored now emerge to  take their place. A shelf or two ready to be painted, a lampshade cut in half, a plate  its cream underneath  becoming  central to the plot. I quickly trotted to the market knowing exactly what was required so once  tasks accomplished it was  to bury myself in the store of faded gems  and gather  stripes and spots ready for the skirt. the following images allude to bits  purchased , glimpses of frocks and rabbits needing ears, plates with luscious patterns to yummy to resist.... more to follow soon and all will become clear....

the light is tinged with a hint of gold .....

and a chilly wind is blowing from the North reminding us our long days of Summer are slowly coming to a close and Autumn is just around the corner. Blackberries ripen on the brambles and eldberries glisten in the morning light.  Until the Autumn is fully upon us I always feel a tinge of sadness for those fresh early days of summer , with hot sunshine and light nights.  Tweed and woolly scarves are my comforters that will  get me through the Winter days but until then I will make the most of floral frocks layered up now with cardigans. Work is slowly drying and I must confess to making the most of Summer , enjoying the time of catching up with friends and gardening, work is slow paced . The kiln will be on next week and then everything will start to happen, I have a new venture to explore just waiting for space in time to allow it to grow. Until then just some bits and bobs for you to enjoy......

pitter patter raindrops....

this Friday morning...its quite a surprise as we havent had rain for a while, my flowers in the garden will be so delighted a bit of a pick me up in late Summer. The start of the day leads me on a meander down the garden to see whats growing and  where I can squeeze in more flowers.  Follow me down the garden path to the Wendy house but look Lola has already found a shady spot !!
Once pondered upon there is nothing for it but to start and plan the day ahead,  what is to be made and see how are things are drying ......so step this way and enter the studio.....

where chaos sometimes reigns and treasures stored.. full of tales untold

rabbits dream of a life to be whilst gazing up at the sky above....

clocks tick tock and wait for the mice to appear.....

and yet it reminds us its time for tea and to warm the pot first...

whilst all around are collected bits of this and that inspire and make me smile... and an old cupboard is packed with old broken vintage cups and samples of this and that...... and low and behold the day is done its time for home, a walk over fields and stretch our legs...... and dream of things to come...
